I am sorry if my absence and radio silence sparked some concern for me, especially as I was all set to show up here more often and with content other than music memes. But sadly, stress just shuts me completely down. The whole world went to hell in a handbasket pretty quick with the rapid spread of Covid-19. In truth, I was already dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety before that.
Sorry for the short, sweet, day-late post announcing the winner from my March 1st battle, but there's still a lot of unexpected and time-consuming stuff going on here that I won't bore you with (until the post I make about it, if I get around to making one), but we do have a winner! This one wasn't as close as I figured it would be, though...
I know I haven't been around much lately and I am going to do my level best to get in here and update a bit more about what's going on in my world - mostly because I want to lighten my load just a little bit - but I am trying to figure out a way to do so that keeps my negativity out of the universe, because I certainly don't want or need anymore of it. Needless to say, February has been a doozy. Doozy is a funny word, and that's actually not even what I'd like to call it, but I'll just leave it at that.
First off, the BotB results should have been posted on the 8th, but I forgot that that fell on a Saturday that I was out of town. And is't really even somewhat of a miracle that this even got posted at all. I stepped into the shower at about 10pm, after my four hour trip home, and promptly managed to get some of the fancy tea tree oil shampoo my sweet Mama gifted me into my eyes. I spoke in tongues. I saw undiscovered colors. My eyes have never felt so fresh or clean! Unfortunately, it didn't clear up my vision. And the shower happened after Ari lost his mind after being let out of his kennel.
Look at this; I'm jumping back in with both feet, and on a week with a pre-determined theme at Monday's Music Moves Me.
The theme for this week comes to us from Robin at Songbird's Crazy World: "In honor of Valentine's Day, we will have love songs. Songs about falling in love, songs about being in love, songs about missing the one you love, even songs about losing love."
January is finally over.
Whew, what a long month. I mean, I'd seen all the memes and everyone talking about how long January was, but it seemed to be going by pretty fast for me. Then about the middle of the month, it all slowed down. Way, way down. It didn't help that I was sick for literally the first three weeks of the month. We also seemed to get all four seasons during this time as well. But now, it is February at last!
Sorry I never made it back over here with a Music Monday post. More estate stuff cropped up the has me nearly crippled with anxiety and so frustrated I feel like I could snap at any moment and be Michael Douglas in Falling Down. But I do have the results from my first Battle of the Bands in five or so years!
But probably not till Tuesday. I went out of town to visit family over the weekend, and it took literally forever and a day to take care of everything I needed to do beforehand, and I STILL almost never made it out of my home to make the trip. Still really, annoyingly stopped up, and nothing was helping. So many annoying little things were not going right the first time, running smoothly once happening, and I forgot some important paperwork. I was on the verge of canceling my entire trip because getting going was just overwhelming.
But I’m glad I went, because it was a lovely trip and it’s important for me to be able to visit my family as often as I can.
I got home and both of my sites were gone. I took care of that. Now it’s midnight, and I am done just like this day. I can’t think. I’ll be back at work tomorrow, and hopefully my mind and attitude will be more settled.
Hello, blog friends and BotB-ers! Some of you from the battles may remember me, and some may not - I most notably post covers every now and then that literally NO ONE likes. Seriously. Ask anyone. I've been absent from the Battles for a few years, but it's a new year, a new decade, and I am back and ready to rumble again! And I am apologizing in advance in the event that I submit anything that's been done during my sabbatical.
It's the end of the year and since there's a pretty good chance this post won't be seen, there is also a pretty good chance you'll find it regurgitated sometime in 2020. If you are here reading, though, I'll get right to it as I don't want to take up too much of your time. Here are five of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow (in no particular order):
