Happy Fall, Y’all! (And Music Monday)

The Autumnal Equinox is today, and I honestly thought it was always on the 20th or the 21st. Learn something new every day! Moving on…

I’m really excited for fall! Although we won’t have fall temps for another month or two, the mornings are getting cooler. Not chilly, yet, but cooler at least. I have such plans for autumn. Never before have I been so focused on cleansing negative energy from myself and my home, and getting my home ready for winter. I usually dislike winter, but after all the chaos of this summer, (which you can read about here), I am ready for a change of pace. For the sake of my mental health, I am ready to settle in and hibernate as best I can, and hopefully heal and recover from all I’ve been dealing with this year. I do manage to get some breaks these days, but I need a reset, and badly.

I’ve been tweaking the blog a bit more, and now have a way to subscribe, contact me, and some social media icons! I haven’t invited anyone to the FB page yet because I am still getting it set up, but will be posting on it soon, so add me at all the social media sites you use! I’ve got some tweaking to do on everything still, but I’m mostly happy with how things look.

Sadly, we lost Ric Ocasek of The Cars just over a week ago. I loved The Cars so, so much. I remember being a tween, going to my little country skating rink and skating to “Good Times Roll” and “Shake It Up.” Dancing in my bedroom in the pitch dark (because I was supposed to be in bed sleeping) to “Magic.” Introducing my boys to, and having them fall as in love with “My Best Friend’s Girl” as I had. They have so many great songs, and this is just one of them. I feel like this one is a bit under appreciated, so here you go:

The Cars – “Moving In Stereo”

The 4M theme at Cathy’s this week is freebie. Head over there to participate!

  1. We are of different generations but the Cars spoke to both of us. Moving in Stereo is one of my favorite Cars songs, but there are so many that I love, especially All Mixed Up, which is paired with this song on many radio stations (and their Greatest Hits album). Ric’s death was a great loss. Thank you for joining us.

Thank you for having me…I’ve really missed my blog.

You are right; The Cars do have so many great songs. It was hard for me to choose just one.

  2. Kim,

I got your link added. I got an error that had to do with blogs not being set to allow other sites to read from theirs, so this might be why you can’t link up having Linky Tools to pull an image from your URL. What I did was create an image for you and uploaded it using the ‘from file’ option. So, if you get that again next week then you’ll know what to do. 😉 It’s great having you back in Blogosphere. I’ll head over to catch up your goings-on in a sec. Nice tribute to the late Cars’ lead singer. There’s been quite a number of loss in the entertainment community. Thanks for the dance, my friend. Rock on!

    • Kim says:

Thank you so much for doing that, Cathy! I couldn’t get it to accept any of my manually uploaded images, either, but the files may have been too big.

RE: the entertainers dying; unfortunately that will happen more and more as they get older. Sad, but I guess it’s something that happens with each generation eventually, if we’re lucky enough to make it that far.

  3. John Holton says:

This is an interesting song to listen to with headphones, because in the beginning the vocals pan from one speaker to the other. Guess that’s what “moving in stereo” is all about…

Having a great weekend, other than the Linky annoyance…I think it might be my computer and not my blog, but heck if I know how to fix it! I can’t wait to see your site revamp once you get it done. I think settling into fall is a great time to get your home – AND your home on the web! – ready for winter.
