Music Monday for 11.04.2019 – Some Firsts

(NaBloPoMo Day 1)

Howdy!

It’s the first Music Monday of November, my first NaBloPoMo post (see my post about NaBloPoMo here.), and since this is a freebie week for Monday’s Music Moves Me, I thought I’d post a small playlist of first songs released by some bands I love. Keep in mind that these are not necessarily their first commercially successful singles, though.

R.E.M. – “Gardening At Night”

Thirty Seconds To Mars – “Capricorn (A Brand New Name)”

The Black Crowes – “Jealous Again”

Nine Inch Nails – “Down In It”

Alice In Chains – “We Die Young”

What are YOU listening to this first weekend in November?

  1. Kim,

I’ll have to say these bands are not my normal genre to listen to but it’s a welcome always to sample what others like, though. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor this week, my dear. Have a boogietastic week!

Thank you for stopping by, and always being willing to give my selections a try even though they aren’t what you normally listen to. I like hearing new-to-me music, too!

Kim, thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m in a rock choir (Rock Voices) and I’ve found an appreciation for all sorts of rock bands I never had appreciated before. It’s totally expanding my repertoire and interests. Looks like you have some eclectic music tastes like me.

Thank you for stopping by, Marie! I definitely have some very eclectic musical tastes. I guess I actually have very eclectic tastes in just about everything, from music to fashion to decor. Even with this blog, which in my mind is a melting pot of my interests, but in reality? Right now it’s a lot of blog hops. I am attempting to break out of that with NaBloPoMo, so we’ll see.

A rock choir, huh? That sounds so cool and exciting! I am going to go see if I can find y’all on the web! Thank you for stopping by.

  3. I’m going to have to come back later to listen to your music, but I did want to comment now – I’m sorry I didn’t know about NaBloPoMo before now – I thought it had died several years ago. I don’t think I have the energy to fully participate but….maybe I’ll think about it. And I will be back!

    • Kim says:

Definitely re-think participation. The “revival” chucked the old thirty-posts-in-thirty-days rule. It’s mainly just a more concentrated effort to set a posting goal and stick to it. I’ve committed to weekdays. So far, I’m hanging in there.

  4. This “first songs” was a most interesting set. The only song I knew was “Jealous Again”. This was my first 30 Seconds to Mars song. I liked the song a lot – the video not so much. In fact, I didn’t like the videos from Nine Inch Nails or We Die Young either – of course this is Music Moves Me and not Videos Move Me, so I’ll just say guess there’s a reason for first songs….

    • Kim says:

LOL, I have come to expect that at least a few people aren’t going to like my selections (videos notwithstanding), because I feel like I’m the resident weirdo and don’t know where all my other weirdo bloggers are to get them involved yet!

You just gave me an idea for a theme – I’ll have to see if Cathy will let me take the reins in one of the coming months!
