For my August 1 Battle of the Bands, I chose another Clash song, "Train In Vain", as covered by Annie Lennox and Dwight Yoakam.
I had a lot going on this week, and finally had to go to the doctor to take care of some persistent discomfort. But hopefully I'm on the mend now. I dropped the ball on visiting and voting in a few battles and responding to comments on my own. Even my results post is running a few days behind! But here it is, finally.
It literally just started, but feels like it's been ten days long already.
The 4th nearly wiped us out, as the dogs are not fond of fireworks. Poor babies :(
I was so exhausted Sunday that I didn't finish my Music Monday post. And on Monday I was even more exhausted, so I just decided to opt out for this week.
Folks, I was beginning to think my latest battle (between cover versions of The Cure’s “Love Song” by 311 and Corey Taylor) was going to be a shutout.
Sorry for the short, sweet, day-late post announcing the winner from my March 1st battle, but there's still a lot of unexpected and time-consuming stuff going on here that I won't bore you with (until the post I make about it, if I get around to making one), but we do have a winner! This one wasn't as close as I figured it would be, though...
First off, the BotB results should have been posted on the 8th, but I forgot that that fell on a Saturday that I was out of town. And is't really even somewhat of a miracle that this even got posted at all. I stepped into the shower at about 10pm, after my four hour trip home, and promptly managed to get some of the fancy tea tree oil shampoo my sweet Mama gifted me into my eyes. I spoke in tongues. I saw undiscovered colors. My eyes have never felt so fresh or clean! Unfortunately, it didn't clear up my vision. And the shower happened after Ari lost his mind after being let out of his kennel.
Sorry I never made it back over here with a Music Monday post. More estate stuff cropped up the has me nearly crippled with anxiety and so frustrated I feel like I could snap at any moment and be Michael Douglas in Falling Down. But I do have the results from my first Battle of the Bands in five or so years!
