For my August 1 Battle of the Bands, I chose another Clash song, "Train In Vain", as covered by Annie Lennox and Dwight Yoakam.
I had a lot going on this week, and finally had to go to the doctor to take care of some persistent discomfort. But hopefully I'm on the mend now. I dropped the ball on visiting and voting in a few battles and responding to comments on my own. Even my results post is running a few days behind! But here it is, finally.
One of the themes for this week's Mama Kat's Pretty Much World Famous Writer's Workshop was so timely, and while certainly not specific to me, is indeed perfect for me: "List the top 5 musicians you would see in concert."
Since this nearly got away from me, I'm going to just jump right into my battle without any sort of update or anything.
This week's Monday's Music Moves Me theme: freebie/your choice.
This past Saturday was the first one I've had off in about a month, and likely the last one I'll have off for another month. As I've mentioned in several posts prior to this one, I had pressing estate business with a credit union which only serves the Memphis area.
It literally just started, but feels like it's been ten days long already.
The 4th nearly wiped us out, as the dogs are not fond of fireworks. Poor babies :(
I was so exhausted Sunday that I didn't finish my Music Monday post. And on Monday I was even more exhausted, so I just decided to opt out for this week.
How is July already here? I can't believe half the year is gone. True, it's been a challenging year. And it seems like both a decade and no time at all have passed.
As is customary around here on the first, it is time for another Battle of the Bands!
What is a Battle of the Bands, you ask? It s a twice-monthly blog hop hosted by Stephen T. McCarthy. On the 1st and 15th of each month, participating bloggers choose two covers of the same song and pit them against one another in a “battle”, and their readers choose the winner by listening to both versions and voting for their favorite in the comments.
